The Subaru Boise Store Experience

To Our Valued Guests,

We want you to have fun and be comfortable when you visit our store! To help, we've built this guide with some tips to ensure you have a great car buying experience!

Working By Appointment

When you schedule an appointment with one of our sales advisors, we are able to ensure the vehicles you are most interested in will be ready on your arrival. We'll have them gassed up, cleaned up, and keys in hand. We'll also be ready to answer any vehicle-specific questions right at the car.

Pricing Transparency

We know buying a vehicle is a big decision. Whether you buy on your first visit or are just starting your research, we are always happy to provide upfront pricing information on all new and pre-owned vehicles on the lot. As the largest Subaru dealer, our pricing typically can't be beat! We work with nearly every buying program on the market and are also happy to price match another Subaru Dealer within 300 miles. Just bring in your written offer and we will match or beat it!

Thinking About Financing Your Next Car?

Our team of talented finance managers have years of experience working with a wide variety of banks and credit unions. From Subaru Motors Finance to great local credit unions like ICCU and CapEd, our team negotiates on your behalf to ensure you end up with the most competitive rates and terms you qualify for. Your salesperson will work with you to fill out a credit application when you arrive. You'll want to have handy your last two years of employment and residence history, your gross income before taxes, a work telephone number, and two personal references. If you have had credit challenges in the past it can be helpful to bring your two most recent paycheck stubs and a copy of a current utility bill.

Trading In Your Current Car?

Larry H. Miller Subaru is now part of the Asbury Automotive Group - the fourth largest in the nation. So when we appraise your trade we are able to evaluate if it might be worth more in another part of the country. For example, your convertible VW is likely worth more in Arizona than it is here in Boise. We are happy to accept your trade locally and ship it to our stores where it is worth more - and you pocket the difference! If you really want to maximize your trade value, bring it in cleaned up and with your recent service records. Our used car manager is happy to listen to you and learn about the great things you've done to maintain your vehicle so you can get more for your trade.

How Long Does Purchasing A Vehicle Take?

We know your time is valuable and you don't want to spend all day at the store. A quick Google search will show the average car buying process takes about 4 hours after the research stage. When you are ready, there are several things you can do to speed up this process. We are open Monday through Friday 9 AM to 8 PM and Saturday 9 AM to 7 PM. Weekdays before 5 PM and Saturdays before 12 PM are always less busy. Just by scheduling your vehicle delivery in an off-peak time, you can cut the car buying time in half! Make sure required documents like your driver's license and insurance are up to date. (You don't need an insurance card for the vehicle you're buying just yet - the card for your current policy works great.)

Paying For Your Car

There are many ways to pay for your next vehicle, depending on your preference:

Cashier's checks have the advantage of being guaranteed by the bank - so you can walk out with your new car right after signing your purchase documents. This is the preferred option.
Personal checks can be accepted if approved after a 10-15 minute check guarantee process. For customers with stellar credit and check-writing history, this is a good option.
Credit cards can be accepted for all cash and some finance transactions, up to $3,000 per vehicle purchased. A few of our lending partners do not accept credit card down payments, but a member of our finance team will make this option available if your lender allows.
Debit cards are accepted for payment, but many banks enforce maximum daily spending limits. If you plan to put more than $2,000 to $3,000 on your debit card, please call your bank in advance to request they increase your daily spending limit to include both your planned down payment and any other transactions you might make that day.
We do accept wire transfers for payment with a 2-3 business day delay for accounting hold and verification. If you'd like to pay with a wire transfer, please reach out to our finance department for wire transfer instructions in advance of your delivery appointment to ensure you can take your vehicle home the day you come to sign your paperwork.

Bonus Tips

We have complimentary snacks, water, and coffee at the store. If you have special dietary needs, you may want to plan accordingly. Young children might get a little bored, so feel free to ask our receptionist for some crayons and coloring books. If you know you'll be trading a vehicle in and driving a new car home, we recommend emptying your personal items at home. Then you won't feel rushed when you're excited to drive off with your new car! Last but not least, come in and have some fun! Buying a car should be exciting and we are here to guide you through the process in a relaxed and friendly environment.

We can't wait to serve you here at our Subaru Boise store!
