Meeting a deer or moose on the road is a nightmare scenario for all drivers. Weighing in at over 700 pounds and standing up to six feet tall, it's no wonder that a collision with a moose can do some serious damage. And while slow speeds and safety can reduce the severity of impact or avoid the accident altogether, there are unfortunately some times when a collision is unavoidable. It's these instances in which you can only hope that your vehicle is able to protect you from serious injury.

Just a few days ago, a young Subaru driver experienced this terrifying scenario first-hand. While driving at night on a New Hampshire highway, they met a full-size moose head-on, and the severity of the impact was tremendous. Despite the jaw-dropping wreckage (in which the Subaru's roof and windshield were totaled), the lucky teen was left with nothing but minor injuries.

Subarus are known for their safety features. With crash-prevention technology like Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, Subarus are built to stop a scary situation from transforming into a tragedy. And in moments like the one experienced by this New Hampshire driver, only the best will do.
