Each year, the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies pays tribute to its founder, the late Larry H. Miller, on his birthday (April 26), by participating in community service projects in seven western states. Larry cared a great deal about not just being successful in business, but in positively impacting the communities in which he worked; the Day of Service is a perfect tribute to his memory.
As the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies has grown in size, so has the Day of Service, to the point where the 2015 event featured 2,000 total employees volunteering several hours to many worthwhile organizations throughout their community. These organizations range from the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, to Salvation Army, and many more. Regardless of the specific organization served, the outcome is always the same: a positive experience for those doing the service, and appreciation from those receiving the service.
We at Larry H. Miller Subaru Boise participated as well. We donated our morning to the Boise Bicycle Project, a co-op that promotes the social and environmental benefits of bicycling. Providing service to such an organization was a perfect fit for us. We care about giving people access to safe and efficient forms of transportation— sometimes that's a Subaru Forester, and other times it's aboard a bicycle. It was extremely rewarding (and lots of fun) to contribute to their laudable mission, and we thank them for letting us pick-up the wrenches and bike pumps for a few hours.
