Subaru Ascent SUV Concept | Boise Subaru

The 2018 Subaru Ascent Concept SUV was introduced this April at the 2017 New York International Auto Show. The Ascent SUV Concept is a preview of Subaru's upcoming spacious, versatile and family-sized SUV.

Replacing Subaru's previous Tribeca, the Ascent has a configurable interior with third row seating (center row has captain's chairs and third row is a three-seat bench). Although, the production model will be available with a seven- or eight-seat layout.

"This concept looks confident, courageous, capable and in-command. Three full rows, and every inch is Subaru," said Tom Doll, Subaru of America President.

Both the concept and the production models will be be powered by an all new 2.4L Direct-Injection Turbocharge SUBARU BOXER® engine and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.

The Ascent production model will debut this fall at the Los Angeles Auto Show, and will be based on a modified version of the Subaru Global Platform. The Ascent will be built at Subaru's Lafayette, Ind. plant and will only be sold in North America starting in 2018.
